Harness Racing Australia (HRA) employs a strong commitment and regulatory framework to protect the integrity of breeding activities and horse identification within the harness racing industry.
An important component of these regulations is the parentage verification of each horse prior to registration for competition or breeding activities via genetic marker testing (DNA). The parentage verification results provide HRA with confirmation of Sire and Dam details and eligibility for the Stud Book.
The current agreement for Equine Genetic Marker Testing expires on 31 August 2017 and HRA today released tender details for interested parties to provide Equine Genetic Marker Testing (DNA) services for the Australian harness racing industry beyond this date.
Submissions are invited by 16 June 2017 and it is intended to announce the successful tenderer on 31 July 2017.
