Last season's APG winner and Australian Two-Year-Old of the Year The Storm Inside

BASED on statistics from the past decade, additional glory awaits tonight’s Ladbrokes Australian Pacing Gold champion.

Attracting a stellar assembly of classy freshmen, the $322,000 decider will be conducted at Tabcorp Park Menangle at a scheduled time of 8:15.

Along with the bragging rights that come with claiming a Group One, the winner is likely to attract a highly sought-after accolade bya the end of the season.

That’s because a remarkable seven of the past 10 APG Final stars have been crowned national Two-Year-Old of the Year!

Another promising stat for the winner’s connection is the past 10 colts’ and geldings’ heroes have earned an average of $516,000.

Excluding the winners, the remaining finalists from the last 10 years have combined for more than 1200 wins, with average earnings of $190,000.

A figure which doesn’t read so well for one group of owners tonight is only six of the past 10 favourites have emerged triumphant.

Unbeaten from four starts, exciting Victorian colt Lumineer is the $1.75 favourite for trainer Ange McDowall.

The son of Sportswriter has drawn barrier six, but slots into five with the removal of the emergency.
