ASTUTE mentor Geoff Webster is heading to Ballarat tonight more curious than confident with debutant Kasbah Kid.
A Ladbrokes Australian Pacing Gold purchase, Kasbah Kid is a half-brother to multiple Group One winner Our Little General, meaning he has a tough act to follow.
Like his younger sibling, Our Little General is also an Australian Pacing Gold graduate.
Whether the two-year-old can match the feats of his famous family member remains to be seen, but Webster is looking forward to finding out.
“He is still very green and untapped, so we will wait and see what happens,” Webster said. “He has trialled well and doing everything asked of him so far.
“At this stage though, it’s a case of seeing how he performs at the races and improves as he goes along.”
The son of Art Major – which has drawn two - is one two debutants Webster has in the field, with Dragontown to begin from the inside of the second row.
“It is pretty much the same situation with him,” Webster said. “He’s also doing what we’ve asked at home without being really pushed.
“We will just have to wait and see how it all goes tonight.”
