INDUSTRY NOTICE
The HRSA Board has approved an amendment to the definition of a Concession Driver in South Australia.
Previously a Concession Driver was defined as a licensed driver who has held a licence for a period of less than 5 years from the date the licence was first granted.
A Concession Driver in South Australia is now defined as a licensed driver who has held a licence for a period of less than 5 years.
This alteration in the definition is designed to encourage participants back into the sport who were previously licensed for a brief period. Also, it was deemed inappropriate that time as a concession driver was elapsing whilst drivers were unlicensed, as no experience was being gained during this period.
Drivers will continue to have the ability to extend their claim at the conclusion of this 5 year period, should they have driven less than 50 winners throughout their career.
