Expressions of interest called for Harness Racing Advisory Council

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) seeks expressions of interest from passionate industry participants to serve on the Harness Racing Advisory Council (HRAC).

The HRAC is required to meet a minimum of four times each year and provides feedback to HRV on key harness racing issues.

The HRAC was established in accordance with section 44B (3C) of the Racing Act 1958 that was recently amended by the Racing Amendment Act 2015. A link to the section can be viewed here.

Section 44B (3) states:

The Harness Racing Advisory Council consists of the following members appointed by the Board –

  1. Two members of the Board, one of whom is to be appointed chairperson;
  2. At least 3 members who are nominees of organisations or persons who are representatives of the Victorian harness racing industry;
  3. Up to 2 persons who have experience or interest in the Victorian harness racing industry.

Expenses incurred in undertaking the duties will be compensated.
