RECORD-BREAKING horsewoman Dani Hill continues to be a shining light for the Teal Pants campaign.

Beginning on February 1 – and ending on March 11 – every reinswomen across the country is raising money for the Women’s Cancer Foundation – Ovarian Institute via each triumph.

The various state governing bodies, along with corporate sponsors, are donating a set amount per win, with the tally on target to break $100,000!

Following the previous success of the fundraiser in Victoria and New South Wales, the Teal Pants ‘drive’ has gone national this season thanks to help from Harness Racing Australia.

As for Hill, she has registered 10 wins from just five meetings, including four at Globe Derby yesterday.

“It is great to get a win, let alone four, especially while the teal pants fundraiser is on,” Hill said. “Every win helps and the ladies all over Australia have been making plenty of trips to the winners’ circle in the past couple of weeks.

“There’s still a month to go, so no doubt we will all be doing our best to get that tally right up.”

Along with the donation from Harness Racing SA, which is being matched by Ubet, Hill also has a personal sponsor who is adding to the total with each win.

“Gordon Carter is sponsoring me with each win via his thoroughbred racing stable,” Hill said. “He is also the clerk of the course and had a pretty emotional incident yesterday.

“A lady came up to him, thanked him for the extra support and told him how her daughter died of ovarian cancer.

“It was very touching and is a great reminder of why we are doing this.”
