Long-serving Victorian Harness Racing Media Association President Gordon Lockman passed away peacefully in the Northern Hospital on Thursday December 29.
Gordon had been in ill health for many months, but insisted on being at the VHRMA Hall of Fame dinner, held at Tabcorp Park Melton in November in what was his last public appearance.
A harness racing devotee through and through, Gordon was inducted into the Harness Racing Hall Of Fame in 2011.
An illustrious career saw him involved with the now defunct publication, Australian Trotting Register, the HBA Stallion Guide and he was editor of Trackbred magazine for a number of years.
He also held a position as Secretary/Manager of both the Cranbourne Harness Racing Club and Newcastle Harness Racing Club a number of decades back.
Always available to assist any harness racing personnel at any time, Gordon will be sadly missed by the industry.
Please note the funeral service for Gordon Lockman will be held at 11.30am – Thursday January 5 at the Crick Chapel, Fawkner Memorial Park.
