Victoria’s trots industry continues to benefit from the Andrews State Government’s Victorian Racing Industry Fund.
Mildura, Swan Hill and Wangaratta have all recently received significant VRIF funding for important projects.
Mildura received $25,822 for its reverse cycle air conditioning system upgrade and towards the purchase of a spreader. The air conditioning upgrade will provide a more comfortable environment for patrons in the Ray Hepworth Centre, particularly important in the summer months, while the spreader will provide greater flexibility in the preparation of the race track and eliminate hiring costs.
Swan Hill benefited to the tune of $14,313 towards installation of a machinery shed and compound, which provides the club with a much-needed sheltered area for valuable track machinery.
Wangaratta received $8,394 towards a number of projects; the permanent installation of a platform for the Sky Racing telecast, air conditioning units, safety fencing to enclose the float car park, additional tote benches and a ride-on mower. These projects will provide more efficiency for the club and save it having to hire infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the Victorian trots industry has also been granted $14,359 towards a saddlecloth enhancement project, which will result in an enhanced visual experience for people watching racing. In addition to clearer numbers the saddlecloths will also be made of a high-quality material, which will sustain longevity.
