Nominations for the 2017 Harnessbred.com SA BOTRA Yearling Sale close on Friday, November 4 at 5pm.

Entries are $135 plus GST per lot, while non-sale entries are $600 each.

The Yearling Sale will be held at Globe Derby Park on Sunday 12 February 2017 and will be followed by a mixed sale.

SA BOTRA will conduct a Yearling Sale Classic with prizemoney of a minimum $10,000 for pacing entries in the sale. The race will be held over 1800 metres from behind the mobile barrier with a sex preference draw at Globe Derby Park in June 2018.

Already three graduates from the 2015 sale have won as two-year-old from just 12 eligible pacing yearlings.

Harness Racing SA’s is delighted to support the 2017 Yearling Sale. HRSA CEO John Lewis has advised that a successful Yearling Sale is a key strategy to increase foal numbers and ultimately the total numbers of horses racing.

Therefore, HRSA has resolved to allow any horse which is purchased at the 2017 Yearling Sale, which had not been entered for the Southern Cross prior to the sale, can be made eligible for the Southern Cross at a discounted price of $275 (normally $660).

This discount is subject to a minimum 50°/o SA ownership for the horse to be made eligible for the Southern Cross under the criteria for foals born in the 2015/ 16 season.

Additionally, HRSA will provide extended administrative support to BOTRA for the 2017 Yearling sale leading up to the sale, on the day of the sale and post-sale. HRSA is also extremely supportive of the Yearling Sale Classic for pacing horses that were entered in the sale.

Entry forms for the 2017 Harnessbred.com Yearling Sale are available from the SA BOTRA office at Globe Derby Park or call Lois Randall on 0402 978 424. They can also be downloaded from www.harnessbred.com/yearling-sale-2017
