Nominations for the 2016 TABtouch Perth Inter Dominion have now closed, with a total of 99 horses nominated.
The quality and depth of nominations received outshines previous years, with this series boasting an exciting array of Grand Circuit performers, headlined by Inter Dominion champions Lennytheshark for Victorian trainer David Aiken and New South Wales based Beautide, for James Rattray.
Beautide, the 2015 Australian Horse of the Year was a withdrawal from last year’s series after a setback but showed earlier this year he’s back on track.
The 2016 TABtouch Inter Dominion looks set to re-ignite a fierce rivalry between Lennytheshark and the all-conquering Purdon/Rasmussen stable, who have million dollar earner Smolda and Australasia’s fastest pacer Have Faith In Me, who lowered “Lenny’s” colours in the Group 1 Miracle Mile at Menangle in February.
Another thrilling duel looks set to continue between new kid on the block Hectorjayjay for David Aiken and Ohoka Punter for Nathan Purdon who both departed the Queensland winter with one win apiece from their two clashes.
Victoria’s 2015 leading trainer Emma Stewart has a strong representation with six runners including last year’s finalist Philadelphia Man, comeback pacer Guaranteed and multiple feature race winners Ideal For Real and Yankee Rockstar.
The local contingent will be led by the Gary Hall Snr stable, who will have a strong presence with six nominations, including multiple Group 1 winner Beaudiene Boaz and his dual Group 1 WA Pacing Cup winning stablemate, My Hard Copy.
The Powerful Greg and Skye Bond camp have the most nominations of any stable with ten entered for the series headed by recent Gloucester Park winner Our Jimmy Johnstone.

Racing and Wagering WA’s Harness Racing Manager, Noel Reilly said “the calibre and geographic spread of the nominations sets up the 2016 TABtouch Inter Dominion as the true test of harness racing for Australasia.” Western Australian horses and connections will be strongly competitive in this Series.”
The first rankings will be released on Monday 19th September 2016 with the first continuance payment due by Friday 7th October 2016.
The 2016 TABtouch Inter Dominion kicks off at Gloucester Park on Friday 25 November 2016, culminating in the $1.1 Million Grand Final on Friday 9 December 2016.
