Harness Racing SA wishes to advise that it is extending the period of time that a horse can secure a Southern Cross Bonus by one calendar month.

Therefore if a 2YO horse which was eligible for a Southern Cross Bonus in 2015/16 fails to secure a bonus in the 2015/16 Racing Season and then wins a race in September 2016, this horse will be awarded its 2YO Southern Cross Bonus. This horse would then be eligible for a 3YO Southern Cross Bonus should it win a second race in the 2016/17 Racing Season.

If a 3YO or 4YO horse which was eligible for a Southern Cross Bonus in 2015/16 fails to secure a Southern Cross Bonus in the 2015/16 Racing Season and then wins a race in September 2016 as a 4YO or 5YO, this horse will be awarded its 3YO or 4YO Southern Cross Bonus.

Furthermore, due to the current review of the Southern Cross Racing & Breeding Incentive Scheme, the due date for payments for the 2016/17 season will be 30 September 2016. Letters and conditions will be sent out in the first week of September.
