Stewards today opened an inquiry into the presentation of MAFUTA VAUTIN for racing at Albion Park on 30 May 2015 after a pre race urine taken from the gelding was reported by the Queensland Government Racing Science Centre (RSC) to contain Cobalt above the prescribed threshold according to the Australian Rules of Harness Racing. After evidence was taken from trainer Darrel Graham, Dr Karen Caldwell (Acting Manager Veterinary Services, RSC), Mark Jarrett (Manager Analytical Services, RSC), Samantha Nelis (Principal Chemist, RSC), Professor Paul Mills (University of Queensland) and Professor Colin Chapman (University of New England), Stewards adjourned the inquiry to consider the submissions.
