Harness Racing Victoria wishes to advise punters that commencing tomorrow night at Melton – 9 January that Tabcorp will be transitioning to an Electronic Betting Terminal (EBT) only service.
Therefore Tabcorp will not be providing tote operators as part of its on course TAB service for standard meetings at the track.
Punters attending Melton meetings will be able to place bets on course via EBTs that are located in various areas around the course including the Home Straight Bistro, Legends Café, Sports Bar, Gaming Room and Toolern Room.
Tabcorp will be providing concierges next to EBTs at Melton for the first month of the new arrangements to assist customers as they transition to the EBT only service.
Punters that would still prefer to call their bets to a licensed TAB operator will still be able to do so in the Sports Bar at Melton where a retail TAB staffed by Tabcorp Park employees operates seven days per week.
Tabcorp Park Melton CEO Shane Gloury said he was aware the decision would affect punter habits.
“We encourage our customers in these areas to place their bets early tomorrow night to avoid missing out as the transition to EBTs continues,” he said.
For major feature carnival meetings such as Hunter Cup, Victoria Cup and Breeders Crown or for trots meetings where there are a large number of dining bookings in the Toolern Room, the TAB will still be providing on course tote operators.
