10 September 2015

Please note that in November, Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) will be conducting a trial in regards to race starting conditions.

For the month of November every race (excluding 3 feature races) will have a preferential barrier draw condition placed on it.

These draws will include preferential barrier draws based on sex, class, stakes last four and lifetime wins.

There will also be combinations of these. The reason for this trial is to examine the effectiveness of:

•             limiting short priced favourites and,

•             Creating full fields

•             Creating a more attractive wagering product

HRV appreciates each club’s support of this trial and will be formally advised  of the results and recommendations emanating from the trial.
