Michael Brennan, trainer of Nathans Courage, has advised that blood tests taken from the gelding have failed to reveal any abnormalities and Nathans Courage appears to have pulled up well. Mr Brennan added that he has since formed the opinion that Nathans Courage may have choked down and he will experiment with a gear change next preparation when the gelding returns from a spell to prevent any reoccurrence.

RACE 8 – CASEY CLASSIC (GROUP 3) (1720 MS)
Emma Stewart, trainer of Philadelphia Man, has reported that the horse has pulled up and worked well since. Ms Stewart added that the performance may be attributed to the early use made of Philadelphia Man and the race thereafter being run in fast time, particularly bearing in mind that Philadelphia Man had not been racing overly frequently in recent times.

Ken Tippet, trainer of Premier Rose, has reported that blood tests carried out on the mare subsequent to the disappointing performance, have revealed Premier Rose to have an elevated white blood cell count and the mare will be treated accordingly.
