About Us

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) is responsible for the control, development and promotion of the Victorian harness racing industry.  We are committed to developing a vibrant and sustainable harness racing industry which promotes participation, integrity and racing excellence and grow returns to all our stakeholders.  We run around 450 race meetings per year at 26 tracks throughout Victoria.  Victorian harness racing is an important contributor to the Victorian economy generating $422m yearly and employing just under 4000 (full time equivalent) people across the state.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to combine your analytical skills with your knowledge of wagering to secure a full time position working in harness racing.  In this new position as Wagering Manager you will use your well-developed business analyst skills to provide analytical and strategic support to HRV to develop and implement initiatives to grow wagering on the harness product.  Overseeing a small team of form analysts, you will actively work with Wagering Service Providers and other stakeholders to contribute to the development of wagering strategy and promotions.  For further details you are encouraged to refer to the position description. 

About you

  • Ideally you will have prior experience in a data driven, business analyst role with a Wagering Service Provider.
  • You will have a strong interest and passion for racing with an excellent understanding of betting and betting systems, Rules of Racing and Wagering Service Providers. 
  • Strong ability to interpret and analyse betting data and communicate information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Previous relevant experience and knowledge of the racing industry, including knowledge of the legislative requirements around wagering activity.
  • High level of self-motivation, planning and organisational skills with attention to detail.
