Redcliffe trained skewbald pacer Ants Inhis Pants is officially the fastest coloured pacer in the world after breaking two world records in an official 1609 metre time trial at Albion Park last Friday night.

The striking little son of McArdle from the unraced mare Frilly Nickers was clocked to run the metric mile in 1.57.8 lowering the previous all age world best time (1.58) set by the Wayne Waltisbuhl trained White Fire at Albion Park a decade ago.

The Darren Hooper trained Ants Inhis Pants was driven in the time trial by Gary Whittaker and in breaking the all age record he also smashed the 3yo world record (2.00.08) posted by the Irish coloured pacer Cinderella Man last year.

“It was fantastic,” Hooper said. “He did everything we expected him to and more. “ We thought we would get the 3yo record but to also break the all age record was the best feeling.”

There’s a good chance that Ants Inhis Pants may be shipped overseas in the coming months with a lot of interest in the colt from UK stables and studs. Last season the colt successfully served five mares in Queensland.
