Changes to Race Conditions for Southern Cross Finals

Further to the advice that the Southern Cross Finals race meeting has been moved to Port Pirie on Saturday 1 August, HRSA wishes to advice of the following changes to race conditions:
 

  • The Southern Cross 2YO Finals for colts and geldings and fillies will now be run over 1609 metres (previously 1800 metres);
  • The Southern Cross 3YO Finals for colts and geldings and fillies will now be run over 2050 metres (previously 2230 metres);
     
  •  All other races on the night will now be run over the following distances;
    • Race 1, Race 2 & Race 9 will be run over 1609 metres (previously 1800 metres);
    • Race 7 will be run over 2050 metres (previously 2230 metres); and
    • Race 8 will be run over 2530 metres (previously 2645 metres).
       
  • The Barrier draws for each race will remain the same, with 7 horses across the front row.
  • The race order and race times will remain unchanged.
  • HRSA will pay a $100 Float Rebate for every horse which starts at the meeting.
  • HRSA will be also be available to assist with horse floating arrangements.
