Champion pacer Follow The Stars made a flawless start to his 2015 Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series campaign, easily winning last night’s three-year-old colts and geldings’ heat at Shepparton.
Follow The Stars – a member of Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen’s All Stars team – dashed around mid-race for driver Chris Alford to find the lead from early pacesetter Show Me The Bling (Nathan Jack) before going on to win by 8.1m in a mile rate of 1:57.9.
Bernie Kelly-trained Stening finished third with John Caldow in the cart, while long-shot Phantom Rockstar stuck on gamely for fourth for Kevin Weidenbach Jnr after a one-one trip.
Follow The Stars has now locked down his berth in the Vicbred Super Series semi-final, joining fellow heat winner The Culture.
