Keystone Del is spot-on for his Great Southern Star title defence after winning tonight’s Global Stallion Management Trotters Free-for-All at Tabcorp Park Melton.

The seven-year-old Nicole Molander trained star ran home in 57 and defeated in-form Brunelleschi by just over 3m in a 2:00.9 mile rate over 2240m.

Driven by Blake Fitzpatrick, Keystone Del was sent out $1.2 with punters and controlled the race for the bulk of the journey in the five-horse field.

Stent and Keystone Del take the best form into next weekend’s Great Southern Star, but Brunelleschi isn’t far behind.

The Amy Tubbs trained trotter ran another bold race tonight after recent wins in the Horsham Trotters Cup and a heat of the Australasian Trotters Championship.

Brunelleschi also ran second to Flying Isa in the Group 1 Championship Final on February 7.

Steal A Sixpence was third tonight and My High Expectations fourth.
