LAST-START Hunter Cup winner Arden Rooney will start from outside the back row in what promises to be an intriguing Terang Co-Op Pacing Cup on Saturday night.

The Kerryn Manning trained-and-driven stayer scored at cricket score odds in the Hunter Cup after being afforded a 10-out-of-10 steer from the Great Western reinswoman and Gordon Rothacker medallist.

Marg Lee, who dominates Terang racing, will line up two runners in the 2680-metre $25,505 feature race in Jilliby Ablett (to be driven by Peter Craven) and Keayang Steamer (Jason Lee).

Trainer Dean Braun will be aiming at back-to-back Terang Cup successes after taking out the race last year with Im Corzin Terror. This year he has Chancellor Cullen, who has drawn gate seven and will be driven by Chris Alford.

In-form mare Steam Washed has drawn the pole for Ruth and Chris Shinn.

Steam Washed ran third behind Guaranteed and Flaming Flutter in the Group 1 South Australian Pacing Cup three starts back before finishing eighth in the Shepparton Cup and was second last time out in the Ladyship Cup at Melton.

Also taking their place in the Terang Cup will be Lovable Larriken, The Good Times, National Service, Bettor Rock On, Exciteusinthecity and reigning country cups carnival horse of the year Arber.

Last-start Hamilton Trotters Cup winner Action Kosmos will be aiming to add more silverware to his connections’ trophy cabinet in the Barastoc Terang Trotters Cup.

Trained by Geoff Webster and to be driven by in-form reinsman Emmett Brosnan, Action Kosmos is one of two horses off 10 metres in the stand-start event, the other being Unico Pegasus from the Amanda Grieve camp.

HRV’s TAB Trot Selfies competition will give one lucky patron a $1000 TAB voucher simply by uploading a selfie to Facebook.com/trotselfies, while there will be heaps of other on-course entertainment for patrons.

The 10-race program kicks off at 6.30pm with the last at 11pm.
