Guaranteed earns the seventh spot in next Saturday night?s SEW-Eurodrive Miracle Mile at Tabcorp Park Menangle.

Guaranteed and Easy On The Eye joined tonight’s Cordina Sprint winner Suave Stuey Lombo in solving the final puzzle as the last three runners for next weekend’s SEW Eurodrive Miracle Mile were decided at Tabcorp Park Menangle tonight.

Suave Stuey Lombo was guaranteed his spot in the field after winning tonight but directors of the NSWHRC then rushed off to argue the merits of the final two runners.

Guaranteed always looked certain of a spot after finishing second to Beautide in last week’s Coca-Cola Sprint.

But the final spot took some discussion before Suave Stuey Lombo’s stablemate Easy On The Eye was allotted the final position in the eight-horse field.

Bettor Bet Black was given the first reserve spot after finishing second to Suave Stuey Lombo while John Tapp’s reliable fast-class performer Chariot King was given the second emergency spot.

NSWHRC chairman Ray Sharman said the final spot took some discussion as several runners, including Mark Dennis, a fast-finishing third in the Cordina Sprint, all came under the microscope.

“The last spot was a difficult decision but the two runs by Easy On The Eye since coming to Australia showed us he had the potential to improve,” Sharman said.

“The barrier draw will be interesting and no doubt Terror To Love, the selection that has raised the most interest, will be hoping not to get the visitor’s draw again.

“There have been some exceptional performances in the past few months, Suave Stuey Lombo has been outstanding and Avonnova also showed what he could do at Newcastle.

“On this track, he’ll be hard to cross if he gets a good draw here.

“These races, in this class, well, you have to be in the leading pack to win, so the draw will now be crucial to their chances.”

The draw will be decided at a Miracle Mile official draw luncheon tomorrow (Sunday) at Tabcorp Park Menangle.

The final field for the SEW Eurodrive Miracle Mile is:

Beautide, Avonnova, Christen Me, Terror To Love, For A Reason, Suave Stuey Lombo, Guaranteed, Easy On The Eye (1st em: Bettor Bet Black, 2nd em: Chariot King).
