Broadways Best sprints to Group 1 success in the Vicbred Super Series 3YO Fillies Final in 2009.

Champion mare Broadways Best will have her final start at Kilmore next month in either the Kilmore Cup or the Popular Alm Sprint.

But first the Shannon McLean trained four-time Group 1 winner will line up this Saturday night in the HBV Cinderella Stakes, a race she has won twice before.

It would be a fairy tale end to her career if the daughter of Village Jasper/Broadway Gal was able to finish with another feature race victory in either the Cinderella Stakes or at Kilmore, said McLean.

“She’s a once-in-a-lifetime horse. She’s holding her own still at nine years old. The barrier draw that she gets given what she’s won makes it a bit trickier but I think she’s going well enough to win another one.”

Broadways Best is best driven cold nowadays and finishing strongly.

Her most recent win was on June 26 at Melton when she upstaged Machin Out, Im Barney Rubble and Kotare Roland.

Earlier in her career Broadways Best won the Victoria Oaks Final at Moonee Valley, backed that up with a win in the Vicbred Super Series 3YO Fillies' Final at the Valley in 2009, won the Vicbred Super Series Final for 4YO mares in 2010 at Tabcorp Park Melton and made it four Group 1s with victory in the Ladyship Mile at Menangle in 2011.

Broadways Best has to date had 92 race starts for 29 wins and 28 placings for winnings of $638,056.
