Maddison Brown after winning the Virgil Queen Celebration at Northam with Gota Good Lookadda

Eighteen year old Maddison Brown received reward for her consistency when she took out the Garrards Concession Drivers Series finishing fourth in the last race of the series last night at Gloucester Park.

Brown, the youngest daughter of leading Western Australian driver Colin Brown, finished with a total of 29 points and won by three points from Michael Grantham (26) with Kristy Sheehy a further three points behind in third place with 23 points.

Kristy Sheehy took out last night’s heat with an all-the-way victory behind the Greg and Skye Bond trained Jay Bees Grin which beat Noble Force (Cody Wallrodt), Never Too Rich (Letitia Barron) and Jimi Chew (Maddison Brown).

Maddison Brown has had a remarkable month since winning her first race at Central Wheatbelt on August 3rd behind Gota Good Lookadda which is trained by her father.

In her past 14 drives over the past five weeks Maddison has driven six winners, two seconds, two thirds, two fourths and two fifths which gives her a remarkably good UDR figure of 0.5555. After taking some 49 race drives to land her first winner Maddison’s confidence has blossomed and she now ranks as one of the State’s most promising young drivers.
