Harness Racing Victoria CEO John Anderson has accepted a nomination to partake in the Ice Bucket Challenge, a social media phenomenon that is sweeping the internet to raise awareness for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Mr Anderson was nominated for the challenge by Racing Victoria CEO Benard Saundry.

Mr Anderson said he had a personal link to MND, having lost his father to the illness, while recently his friend Neale Daniher has revealed his battles with the disease.

The ice buckets will be dumped on Mr Anderson by prominent Victorian trots figures including Chris Alford and Greg Sugars at tomorrow night’s Tabcorp Park Melton meeting.

It will take place in the parade ring at 6.25pm (between Races 1 and 2).

Mr Anderson encouraged people to visit the MND Australia website (mndaust.asn.au) and consider making a donation to help work towards a world free from MND.
