The end of the season is fast approaching, and quality racing has been produced in the lead up heats, semi finals and finals of the Breeders Challenge events. The Breeders Challenge Blue Finals were conducted on the 12th July and this new event for 100% NSW bred has been made possible by the staking of the series by the NSW Harness Racing Club. The running of the Regional Finals at Young on 27th July will be the culmination of what has been a very successful series.
The Association’s Owners of the month for June include a cross section of people, some new to Harness Racing and others of long standing.
The first is Finian Doyle, the owner of Group 1 filly, Whereibylong. This outstanding filly won a heat, semi-final and then the final of the Breeders Challenge. By Somebeachsomewhere out of top class mare Bylong Bele, she has all the characteristics needed to transition into a highly competitive open class mare.
Our second owner for June is Victorian based Adrian Bau, who shares in the ownership of Aspiring Artist, the open class Mach Beauty, and the sub 1.50 winner Suave Stuey Lombo. This is a trio anyone would be proud to share in.
The third owner for June is owner, trainer, breeder, Glenn Wilmott, who hails from Young in the South West of NSW. Glenn has had an outstanding year with some of his homebreds, namely Mustang Jet and the very promising Casino Grin whose latest win was in the ACT Sapling Stakes. Their performances indicate that next year should be something special.
