Brunelleschi and Amy Tubbs will team up again in Saturday night's Bendigo Bank Trotters Cup.

In-form Group 1 trotters Brunelleschi and Tsonga look set for a showdown in Saturday night’s Bendigo Bank Bendigo Trotters Cup at Lord’s Raceway.

The race program includes the Trotters Cup, Bendigo 3YO Guineas, Bendigo 3YO Classic and the Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series 2YO and 4YO races with the first event to start at 6pm.

Amy Tubbs’ brilliant Brunelleschi ran a bottler of a lead-up race in last Saturday night’s John Slack Memorial Trot Cup at Ballarat.

The dual Group 1 winner came with a big finish to beat all bar Keystone Del and Spidergirl in the Group 2 Cup.

Brunelleschi will start from the seven-post on the front line.

Another Group 1 winner is Tsonga.

The 7YO gelding is off a 10m handicap with David Moran at the reins.

Trained by Kari Males, Tsonga won the Group 3 Trotters Marathon at Tabcorp Park Menangle last Saturday night.

There are three locally trained trotters in the Bendigo Cup.

Recent Melton winner Stephen John, prepared by Len Maher at Junortoun, will start from the pole mark, with Len’s son Graeme to drive.

Last year’s Stawell Cup winner Si Capisco, trained in Bendigo by Alan McIntosh, will go from three on the front line for leading driver Chris Alford and Sutton Grange trainer Ross Graham and Bendigo driver Daryl Douglas team up with 9YO Savannah Way, which will start from the second row on the front mark.

Savannah Way is chasing its first win since scoring at Melton in January.

The $16,505 Cup is raced over 2650m from a standing start.
