CHAIRMAN OF STEWARDS TO RETURN TO NZ

HRSA wishes to advise that the Chairman of Stewards, Stephen Mulcay, is returning to New Zealand to take up a new position as a Steward with the NZ Racing Integrity Unit. He will commence in the new role on 9 June 2014.

Originally from the Canterbury Region of New Zealand, Mr Mulcay has served as the HRSA Chairman of Stewards for the past five years, and prior to that was a Senior Steward with Harness Racing Victoria.

HRSA Chairman, Mark Carey, acknowledged Mr Mulcay’s outstanding service to harness racing in South Australia over the past five years.

Mr Carey stated that “Steve is held in high regard both locally and nationally, and in particular his technical ability and overall knowledge of harness racing is outstanding”.

Mr Carey stated that Steve is returning home to New Zealand for family reasons.

“We congratulate Steve on his new appointment with the NZ Racing Integrity Unit, and wish him and his family well in their return back home.”

HRSA wishes to advise that a review of the current integrity structure will be undertaken as part of the process for the appointment of the new Chairman of Stewards.
