John Anderson announced the Audio Visual Contract recently.

At its most recent meeting, the Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) Board determined to award the tender for the provision of Audio Visual Services to Mediatec Asia Pacific (Mediatec).

Mediatec beat a quality field of broadcasters who tendered for the business, including the incumbent Provideo.

Provideo has provided Audio Visual Services to HRV since 1997 and has provided excellent service to the harness racing industry in Victoria for 16 years.

Mediatec is a quality broadcaster bringing to HRV over 20 years’ experience in broadcast services in the sports industry.

HRV Chief Executive John Anderson said that it was a big decision for the Board to make.

“Provideo has been a loyal and reliable provider of Audio Visual Services for a long period.  However the Board took into account the technical quality of the Mediatec bid and assessed it as the best value for money looking into the future,” Anderson said.

“We are confident Mediatec will bring a fresh approach adding value and growth to the business, with improvements in infrastructure, production and content delivery.

“I would like to recognise the contribution Provideo principal Frank Verstrepen and his staff have made over an extended period.  They have been a partner in our business for 16 years and have delivered a cost effective quality product during that time. I wish them well with their contracts interstate.”

Provideo will complete its current contract on October 31.  Mediatec will then assume responsibility for delivering harness racing pictures for a five year period.
