Dean Braun notched up his second straight Traralgon Pacing Cup yesterday at the Warragul track.
Consistent pacer Inky Cullen took out Monday's Traralgon Pacing Cup, run at Warragul, his tenth victory at only start 13.
An even money favourite, Inky Cullen ran down pacemaker Courageous Spirit which was just nudged out of second placing by Conflict Of Interest.
Top reinsman Chris Alford drove Inky Cullen, in the process snaring his fourth Traralgon Pacing Cup. He and winning trainer Dean Braun also combined to win the race last year with Nuclear Bunny.
Inky Cullen is enjoying a rapid rise through the classes - in his three losses to date he has finished second and the four-year-old looks like a star of the future.
Alford also steered Now and Forever to a win earlier in the day.
Locals enjoyed a good day on Monday, with the well backed Call Me Bond scoring in the last event for trainer Michael Hughes, owner/breeder Garry Rogers and driver Gavin Lang.
A two-year-old with natural ability, Call Me Bond was beautifully driven by Lang in winning its first race at start two.
Lang also drove Lucky Twenty Three to win for his father Graeme in the Trotters Handicap.
Longwarry trainer Lee Evison produced Ymbros Angel to an upset victory in race two.
At odds of 40/1, Ymbros Angel ran down favourite Rowan Delight to score by a head. Evison part owns Ymbros Angel along with the horses breeder, Danny Ymer.
Blissfull Spanker was another longshot winner at odds of 25/1 in race seven for Ballarat horseman David Murphy.
This was the most exciting finish of the day, with just over one metre spanning the first four horses over the line.
Local horses Live In Doubt, Zoes Dream and Arcupandgo all turned in handy minor placings for their connections on Monday.
