The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) have granted a stay to Mr Shayne Cramp with regard to the recent periods of suspension imposed upon Mr Cramp’s driving licence by the Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) Racing Appeals and Disciplinary (RAD) Board . On 22 March 2013, the HRV RAD Board suspended Mr Cramp’s driving licence for a period of 6 months in relation to a breach of Australian Rule of Harness Racing (ARHR) 168 (1) regarding an incident that occurred on 12 February 2013. On the same date (22 March 2013), the HRV RAD Board also imposed a 4 week suspension in relation to a breach of ARHR 149(1) regarding a drive of Mr Cramp on 7 March 2013. Mr Cramp was further granted a stay by the HRV RAD Board in relation to a 2 week suspension, imposed by HRV Stewards, under ARHR 163(1)(a) relating to an incident that occurred on 14 March 2013. HRV Stewards opposed the granting of a stay to Mr Cramp, both in relation to the VCAT and HRV RAD Board applications.
