Harness Racing NSW today inquired into the conduct of Trainer Mr Peter Hanson in the Stewards Room at the Penrith Harness meeting on Thursday 15 March 2012.
Mr Hanson pleaded guilty to a charge of improper conduct under AHRR 247. The particulars of the charge being that, during the course of an inquiry at Penrith on Thursday 15 March 2012 he conducted himself and spoke in an improper manner towards the Stewards.
In considering penalty the Stewards took into account Mr Hanson’s:
• Guilty plea
• Disciplinary record
Mr Hanson was fined the sum of $2,000 however, under the provisions of AHRR 256 (5) (a) the Stewards suspended the sum of $1,000 for a period of 12 months conditional on Mr Hanson not re-offending during that period.
Harness Racing NSW (HRNSW) is the controlling body for harness racing in New South Wales with responsibility for commercial and regulatory management of the industry including 31 racing clubs across the State. HRNSW is headed by an industry-appointed Board of Directors and is independent of Government.
