‘INTERNATIONAL rugby league legend turned television celebrity Gary ‘Wiz’ Freeman MNZM will be the Race Day Ambassador of Sydney’s harness racing home, Bankstown Paceway, for the Rainbow of Hope Charity Race Day in support of Revesby’s Broderick Gillawarna Special School on Monday, April 16th, 2012,’ Bankstown Paceway Director Andrew Ho announced this morning.

‘Bankstown Paceway is elated to welcome to our track Wiz Freeman – New Zealand’s greatest ever half back and, at the time of his retirement, the most capped New Zealand test player and record holder for most consecutive tests for New Zealand, with 37,’ Mr Ho said, ‘and, with all of the New Zealand horses who have made the move to Bankstown in recent years, Wiz should feel right at home.’

‘But, fear not local league fans, because in the course of his stellar career Wiz also played for the Tigers, Roosters, Panthers and the Eels before taking up his current role as the co host of Fox Sports NRL Dream Team,’ Mr Ho added.

The Rainbow of Hope Charity Race Day will be held at Bankstown Paceway on Monday, April 16th, 2012, with the first race set to start at 1.29 pm.

Tickets for the race day charity luncheon in support of the Broderick Gillawarna Special School – which includes a three course gourmet buffet lunch plus all beer, wine and soft drinks – can be purchased for $110 per person or $1000 per table of ten by contacting Mrs Vanessa Gauci, Broderick Gillawarna Special School P&C, direct on 0421 462 842 or via email at Gauci1@optusnet.com.au
