Harness Racing New South Wales (HRNSW) conducts the commercial and regulatory functions of the harness racing industry in NSW. Operating under the Harness Racing Act 2009, HRNSW is chartered to operate autonomously of government in managing the strategic and commercial development of harness racing in NSW as a not-for-profit corporate body.
A full-time vacancy exists in the Bankstown based Racing Office for the position of Handicapper.
Reporting to the Racing Manager – Regulatory the successful applicant will assist with field selection, acceptance of nominations for races and trials, acceptance of scratchings and driving changes, data entry and general clerical duties.
The role requires weekend and on occasions outside of normal hours work, including attending race meetings.
Applicants should possess a knowledge of or keen interest in the Harness Racing Industry and
have a basic knowledge of handicapping and the rules of Harness Racing.
Applicants must encompass integrity, be customer service driven, a self-starter, possess a controlled phone manner, be able to deal with hostile situations and be competent in the use of the Microsoft Office package.
