HRNSW today concluded an inquiry into a report received from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory, that a post race urine sample taken from LITTLECHRISSYADIOS following Race 5, Tail Wines Griffith Cup at Griffith on 1 November 2011 upon analysis reported the presence of the prohibited substance ibuprofen.
Trainer Mr David Kennedy pleaded guilty to a charge under Australian Harness Racing Rule 190(1),(2) & (4), that as the licensed trainer of LITTLECHRISSYADIOS he did present that horse to race at Griffith on 1 November 2011, when a post race sample taken from it, upon analysis reported the presence of the prohibited substance ibuprofen.
Mr Kennedy was disqualified for a period of 3 months effective immediately and fined the sum of $2000.
In assessing penalty Stewards took into account, his guilty plea, his unblemished record, the nature of the prohibited substance, the seriousness of the offence and his personal circumstances.
LITTLECHRISSYADIOS was disqualified as the winner under AHRR 195 from Race 5, Yellow Tail Wines Griffith Cup, at Griffith on 1 November 2011 and the placings amended accordingly.
