Twelve year old Sydney school boy Logan Cotterill (in pink t-shirt).
‘TWELVE year old school boy Logan Cotterill has earned the ultimate bragging rights among his class mates – the supreme “show and tell” tale – the day he named his very own horse race,’ Bankstown Paceway director Andrew Ho declared today.
‘Just a week before our nation stops for the 151st running of the Melbourne Cup, Sydney school boy, Logan, has broken the world record by being the youngest person to ever have a horse race name after them,’ Mr Ho said.
‘What’s more, twelve year old, Logan, is also the first ever race goer at Sydney’s harness racing home, Bankstown Paceway, to name his own race as part of the TAB Number One Club’s “Name Your Own Race” initiative',’ he said.
‘How many other kids can claim that they’ve had their names printed in the official ‘racebook’ programme or published by Australian and international newspapers – and, then, heard the renowned race caller, Fred Hastings, announce their name as the name of an Australian horse race?
‘Logan’s backed a winner – and he can’t even place a bet yet,’ Mr Ho added.
