The 2024 WomenCan Team Teal campaign has officially drawn to a close and Club Menangle is pleased to announce that $4600 has been raised from success on our track throughout the six-week period.

Across the 12 race meetings held at our track, Club Menangle donated $200 for every win that was recorded by a horse trained or driven by a female participant. Overall 21 Teal winners were recorded, with two of these wins trained and driven by a female participant.

Bruce Christison, CEO of Club Menangle said: "We must extend a big congratulations and thank you to our female participants who have driven another hugely successful Team Teal campaign. Club Menangle is proud to have played a part in contributing to the overall result of Team Teal here in NSW with 21 wins recorded at our track."

The Sky Racing Carnival of Miracles saw Team Teal showcased on one of harness racing's biggest stages, with four wins recorded across the two nights. Night One saw Amanda Turnbull score a driving win with Pas De Cheval before trainer Shannon Price took out The Cordina Group Sprint with Speak The Truth, and Bay Of Biscay trained by Emma Stewart secured honours in the first NSW Derby Heat. On Night Two, it was local Menangle Park trainer KerryAnn Morris who added further success to Team Teal as Hezatreacherous claimed the Firecoat Sapling Stakes.

The Team Teal campaign, a collaboration between WomenCan, the Harness Racing industry across Australasia and Tabcorp, involves female reinswomen wearing teal pants from February 1 to March 15. The aim is to raise awareness and engage the harness racing community, their supporters, and the broader public.

Funds raised from the Team Teal campaign will support ANZGOG’s education and prevention program – which aims to bring ovarian cancer survivors into the classroom of medical students to share their lived experiences. It also contributes to the patient referral network, which enables women to have access to cutting-edge treatments regardless of where they live.

Alison Evans ANZGOG Chief Executive Officer said: “Thank you to Club Menangle and their supporters for championing the cause of women's health and amplifying the voices of those affected by gynaecological cancer. Your ongoing support is critical in our mission to drive vital research forward, improve outcomes and provide hope. Together, we're making strides towards a future where women's cancers are understood, detected early, and treated effectively.”
