The Price is right, but where does she go?

QUEENSLAND trainer Shannon Price was sweating on whether Leap To Fame would go to NZ, now everyone is sweating on a decision of her own.

Speak The Truth has emerged as a potential key player in either the $NZ1mil Race By Grins at Cambridge on April 12 or the $1.25mil Group 1 Nullarbor at Gloucester Park a week later.

Many felt when Leap To Fame’s owner Kevin Seymour ruled his champion out of an NZ trip early today, Price would snap up one of what’s believed to be at least two slot offers on the table for the Race By Grins.

But it’s now clear WA is still right in the mix.

Maybe it’s because the Nullarbor is worth slightly more and doesn’t look as strong as the Race By Grins?

Could it be the “back-up” of the $300,000 Group 1 Fremantle Cup a week later is a lure, too?

Whatever, Price’s phone must be running hot and slot owners will be nudging her for a decision.

It’s a stunning change from less than a month ago when Price went public with a plea for slot owners in either race to “please take a serious look at my horse.”

Speak The Truth has spoken for himself since.

Two wins and a fantastic third in last Saturday night’s Miracle Mile so far this campaign.

It’s clear the five-year-old has taken the next step this season, perhaps brought on by the seasoning of his Brisbane Inter Dominion campaign last December.

Now, everyone wants a piece of him.

Give him an ideal draw in either race, especially the Nullarbor, and Speak The Truth would be the favourite as the horse to beat.

Over to you, Shannon.

Australia and NZ await your decision.
