SUPERSTAR Just Believe is poised to create Australian trotting history at Melton on Saturday night.

Trainer Jess Tubbs’ late change of heart to run the eight-year-old in the $50,000 Group 2 Dullard Cup will likely see him smash through $1 million in career earnings.

Victory would make Just Believe the first Australian-bred trotter to earn over $1 million.

The gelding sits on $983,173 with 24 wins and 20 placings from his 66 starts.

First prize in the Dullard Cup of $28,500 would take Just Believe to $1,011,673.

Just Believe would move into 10th place on the all-time Australasian list for trotting earners, but the other nine are all New Zealand-bred.

Leading the way is the mighty Lyell Creek with $2,256,724.

Just Believe has the chance to rocket up the list of earners with the $300,000 Great Southern Star on Saturday week.

The way the eight-year-old is racing, it will be a shock if he doesn’t get to second on the all-time list, which is currently held by I Can Doosit at $1,377,319.
