SUPERSTAR trotter Just Believe is so well he will back-up at Melton on Saturday night.

Trainer Jess Tubbs had originally planned to go straight to Saturday week’s Great Southern Star with her dual Inter Dominion winner.

But a combination of how well Just Believe came through his first-up win and a look at nominations for the race changed her mind.

“We’ve had a change of heart and thrown him this week, too,” Tubbs said.

“He’s just did so well, and it’s a $50,000 race; he thrives on the racing.”

Just Believe was first-up since winning the Brisbane Inter Dominion final on December 16 when he cruised to victory in the Group 2 Knight Pistol at Ballarat last Saturday night.

Tubbs said he would improve on whatever he did at Ballarat.

It will mean four runs in just three weeks when Just Believe completes the Heat and final of the Great Southern Star at Melton on Saturday week.

The gelding was beaten in his heat of the Star last year but brilliantly won the final.
