EXCITING young NSW star My Ultimate Ronnie will bypass the Brisbane Inter Dominion to add some serious interstate flair to WA's major four-year-old races.

The multiple Group 1 placegetter will tackle the $125,000 Group 2 4YO Classic at Gloucester Park on December 1 and the $200,000 Group 1 Golden Nugget on December 15.

"We've weighed up everything, and Perth is the plan," trainer Jarrod Alchin said. "Hopefully, he's good enough to run in Inter Dominions in future, but we've got this chance to run for good money against his own age."

"He's booked on a flight across on November 20, which gives us time to settle in at Greg and Skye Bond's place before the first big one."

"I think the (tight) Gloucester Park will suit him. He broke the track record as a two-year-old at Penrith at about his third or fourth start."

"And the style of racing there, where they like to roll along the whole way, is something he'll enjoy, too."

Before he heads to Perth, My Ultimate Ronnie has a couple of key races in his own backyard at Menangle.

The semi-finals of the Breeders Challenge 4YO series are at Menangle Saturday week, with the $50,000 final the following Sunday (October 29).

He will be looking to win his first Breeders Challenge final after finishing third as a two-year-old and second to the mighty Leap To Fame last season.

"He went super against Leap To Fame last year, who was superbly driven by Grant, and they went a 1min49sec mile. He beat the rest easily," Alchin said.

Leap To Fame won't be back to defend the title with his sights set on the Brisbane Inter Dominion.

My Ultimate Ronnie came from a horror draw when an eye-catching sixth in the very strong TAB Eureka at Menangle on September 2.

"We were thrilled with his run. We couldn't have landed a worse draw, but he came from a mile back and was only a length or so from finishing third," he said.

Since then, the son of Bettors Delight has run third at Menangle on September 16 before winning impressively at the same track a week later.

"He's had a great foundation for a trip like Perth, and hopefully the Breeders Challenge caps it off," Alchin said.

"I've always wanted to race a horse in Perth, and I've finally got one good enough."
