HRA Update – Stable Return Obligations

Harness Racing Australia (HRA) would like to stress to participants the vital importance of the traceability of the standardbred population.

The maintenance of accurate data concerning the standardbred population is an ongoing necessity in todays climate and to ensure the sports ongoing viability.

Ensuring that stable return information is as accurate and up to date as possible is a critical element of the traceability process, and with reference to Australian Harness Racing Rule 25 (1) (a), participants are reminded of their obligations to complete stable returns:

A stable return containing true and correct particulars must be lodged with the Controlling Body by the connection of a horse within the time and in a manner and form determined by the Controlling Body by the connections of a horse within the time and in the manner and form determined by the Controlling Body and the connections shall ensure that all particulars on the stable return are true and correct.

All state Integrity Departments will continue to conduct audits on a stables where a comparison is conducted against the horses present at the address and those notified via stable return. Trainers are therefore placed on notice that penalties may be imposed for failing to comply with updated and correct information regarding the lodgement of stable returns.
