WA's highly regarded Westbred scheme means that the sky is the limit for Westbred and Double Westbred horses.

Owners of all Westbred horses receive a $2,000 win bonus for their first win (at any age).

In addition, for each and every 2yo & 3yo race in Western Australia that carries race stakes of up to $15,000, a further $3,750 in Westbred bonuses are available for distribution to any Westbred horses that finish first through fourth ($2,550 for first, $675 for second, $338 for third & $187 for fourth).

Double Westbred horses operate on the same system as the Westbred horses, except that their Westbred win bonus is doubled for all winning performances (i.e. the bonus increases from $2,550 for the winner to $5,100).

The bottom line is that horses earn an additional $2,550 ($5,100 for double Westbred horses) on each and every Western Australian race that they win as 2yo's or 3yo's where the race stakes are less than $15,000.

For all WA 2yo & 3yo races that carry prizemoney between $15,000 and $19,999, the Westbred bonus grows to $6,750 per race ($4,250 for first, $1,125 for second, $565 for third and $310 for fourth).  Again, the winners bonus doubles to $8,500 for all Double Westbred horses.

There is no limit to the number of Westbred bonuses a horse can win as a 2 or 3yo.

Westbred and Double Westbred horses are clearly identified on the bottom of their APG sales catalogue pages.
