One of the highlights of tonight's Tasmanian Trotting Club meeting is the highly anticipated clash in the Triple M Hobart Pace.

The second race on the seven-event card will see Streitkid, Resurgent Dream, Drayton and Usain Jolt clash over 2090 metres.

Usain Jolt, trained by Tony Petersen, is first up since August and will have the services of champion reinsman Ricky Duggan.

"Usain Jolt had a trial early in January (7th) running second beaten a metre by Call Her Julie but Tony wasn't totally happy with how he felt and pulled up so his return has been delayed, but he's back and no doubt he will improve on whatever he does tonight," said Ricky.

"It's a top field with some smart pacers engaged, Streitkid has come up with an inside front line draw, Drayton will get the run through on its back from the second row and Resurgent Dream is a nice mare."

Usain Jolt boasts stakemoney earnings in excess of $100,000 and has won 11 races and been placed 14 times from 33 starts.

"Usain Jolt had a frustrating run last year finishing second on eight occasions but was finally reward late in the season for his consistency winning four of his last eight starts," said Duggan.

"Pushkin is likely to push forward at the start so we will more than likely be trying to track it up from the second row and I will just have to play it by ear from there, 'Usain' has more than one string to his bow which is always a bonus, he can do it at both ends of the race when he is firing."

The Paul Hill prepared Streitkid is batting at a 50% strike rate winning eight of 16 career starts and is the last Devonport winner over Miracle Marcus while Resurgent Dream has an outstanding record winning nine of her 21 starts and will be fitter for her first-up run a fortnight ago when third to Alta Surreal.

Sam Rawnsley's Drayton has made a bright start to the season with a win and three placings from four outings and looks nicely drawn to be in the frame again.

Tonight's Tasmanian Trotting Club meeting, commencing at 17.25, may be viewed via the live stream service at tasracing.com.au.
