The Craig Hayes trained three-year-old filly Jeanette Barry is gunning for three wins a row on its home track when she lines up at today’s twilight meeting in Burnie.

The Sportswriter-Gallavance filly (pictured) raced through her 10-start two-year-old season running three placings, including a second behind Tasmanian Two-Year-Old Filly Of The Year Ideal Bliss in the Evicus Prelude before following up with another placing behind the star filly in the $40,000 Final.

Jeanette Barry has made a flying start to her 2017/18 campaign winning two of her three starts for the season over Miss Costalot and then Invest.

Today she contests the Ian Heazlett Pace over 1892-metres from the stand and if her recent form from behind the strands is a good indicator expect her to be in front before the field hits the first corner, pole-marker Red Shed Robbie, Black Ops, Artarama and Art Of My Art loom as the dangers.

The North West Tasmanian Light Harness Association Mares Feature is one of the highlights of the seven-event card for four-year-old and older performers.

Trainer-Brooke Hammond holds the whip-hand, launching a two-pronged assault on the $8,100 feature in the shape of the first and second favourites Hamna Shida and Hot Shot Bonnie.

Hamna Shida was a Devonport winner four starts back, running favourite and leading all the way to defeat Artarama while Hot Shot Bonnie was successful at Burnie in January despite sitting in the death chair, still proving too strong for Shadow Control.

The Tasracing Liza Storm is another major race on the programme with the John Castles prepared Sophia’s Angel in gate two clashing with the Todd Rattray-trained Invictus, starting from outside the second line.

See tonight’s action from Burnie’s Wivenhoe Showgrounds, commencing at 17.35, via the live stream service at tasracing.com.au
