Ahead of tonight’s Diamond Classic meeting at Gloucester Park, get the last word from all the key players. Race 5 is the running of the feature event, taken out by Majorpride last year, pictured above.

RACE 1 – MONDO DORO SMALLGOODS 2YO PACE

1.Kyle Harper (Lil Happy Fella): “Racing well enough. Better horses in the race for sure. He gets the draw to put him in contention.”

2.Chris Voak (Disco Demon): “Gets the chance to lead. We will see where he’s at.”

4.Kim Prentice (Carabao): “Huge step up for him. The ones outside him are nice horses. We will come across and find out how good he is.”

5.Michael Grantham (Seeryanfly): “Like the horse. I’d say he’d drop back but he has got speed.”

6.Greg Bond (Give Us A Wave): “First run back. He’s forward in condition. Tricky draw against good opposition.”

7.Gary Hall Jnr (Mighty Ronaldo): “Goes well. Big test drawn there. Probably won’t go forward. If he gets a decent run they’ll know he’s there.”

8.Dylan Egerton-Green (Talks Up A Storm): “Been working super. Draw makes it difficult in a handy field.”

10.Aiden De Campo (Dominus Factum): “Was happy with him first-up. Will improve a lot and has the ability to match it with these.”

RACE 2 – CATALANO TRUCK & EQUIPMENT PACE

1.Ross Olivieri (Dennis): “Gets every chance. He will lead for sure.”

3.Shannon Suvaljko (Qtown Rip Roaring): “Racing well. Just needs luck in races to be in the finish.”

5.Gary Hall Jnr (Dracarys): “We will press forward. Drawn middle of the line so she’s not much chance if she goes back.”

6.Michael Grantham (Valbonne): “We will slot in and hopefully get on the three-wide train.”

8. Gary Hall Snr (Our Rhythm N Blues): “Stewie McDonald chose to drive Our Rhythm N Blues. He said he went pretty well last start. He burst three-wide when the pace went on.

9.Greg Bond (Courage Tells): “He was great last week. No luck with the barriers.”

10.Gary Hall Snr (Extreme Prince): “I think he’s the best chance. With the right run he’s got some each-way hope.”

12.Chris Voak (Bracken Sky): “Desperate to drive him. Looks like he has good closing speed.”

RACE 3 – SPECIALISED EQUIPMENT FUNDING SOLUTIONS PACE

2.Michael Grantham (Machlani): “I think we will try and cross the one. Dominate The Dojo will hum across. We could be left in the breeze though.”

3.Gary Hall Jnr (Gangbuster): “Racing well. Good place chance.”

4.Kim Prentice (Soho Thunderstruck): “Been up for a while. Very consistent. Think he will run a good race though.”

9.Greg Bond (Kingslayer): “Not as strong as last week. Definite chance. Soho Thunderstruck looks the one to beat.”

RACE 4 – PURE STEEL

1.Gary Hall Snr (Balcatherine): “I think she’s got gate speed. I’m sure she will go close leading. I would think it would be very hard to cross her.”

2.Aiden De Campo (Walsh): “Racing well. Looks hard to beat the one. Place chance.”

3.Jack Justins (Carramar Arapaho): “Hoping to cross. If he can get there then I expect him to put in a big effort.”

4.Shannon Suvaljko (Roll With Me): “Racing well. Each-way.”

5.Chris Voak (Hes Royal Blue): “Tricky draw. Wait for a draw.”

8.Aldo Cortopassi (Art Tutor): “Draw is tricky because he’s an on speed horse.”

12.Michael Grantham (Back In Twenty): “Each-way. I was really happy with him last week.”

RACE 5 – PERTH PLASTERBOARD CENTRE DIAMOND CLASSIC

1.Gary Hall Jnr (Alta Louisa): “She’ll hold the lead. Not that quick of a front line. Never drawn anywhere to press forward. Interesting to see how she goes.”

2.Aldo Cortopassi (Star Fromthepalace): “Not sure on the one leading. She’s inexperienced. She hasn’t had the better fillies pressuring her. My filly is racing well. I’m not worried about breezing, she’s done that before.”

3.Shannon Suvaljko (Rockin The Trend): “Wait for an easier race.”

4.Kim Prentice (Soho Whisper): “She’s the pick of my two. Happy with her. Can hit the line strongly and with the breaks she can run 3rd to 5th.”

5.Kim Prentice (Soho Major Player): “Most probably racing better than ever before. She’s the same as Soho Whisper.”

6.Chris Voak (Misstiano): “Going well but the draw hurts.”

7.Greg Bond (Weewah): “Racing well. Not without a chance.”

9.Greg Bond (Intheskyrocket): “She was third in the Oaks and she found the line well in the heat.”

10.Colin Reeves (Blockjorg): “She’s fine. Pulled up well. I couldn’t be happier with her. Fortunately, she’s going well. She does deserve to win a feature somewhere along the line.”

12.Ross Olivieri (Double Expresso): “Plenty worse draws than 12. She will go a fair bit better than last start. They will sort out where they are then Chris will put her in the race.”

RACE 6 – VILI’S PIES PACE

1.Aldo Cortopassi (Major Shard): “If I can get him away. We will play it by ear.”

2.Shannon Suvaljko (Seven Demerits): “Racing without luck. Each-way chance.”

5.Michael Grantham (Countess Grace): “Front line helps. Wouldn’t have her on last start though.”

6.Gary Hall Snr (Mr Kiwi): “The owner said to me he’s a really quick beginner. Hopefully that’s the case and if he does begin quickly I’m sure he’ll be very hard to beat. Last start he won and probably wasn’t overly impressive. He would definitely have taken a fair bit of improvement out of that run. The standing start will suit him down to the ground.”

11.Aiden De Campo (Attack On Command): “Hard from 20. Always runs an honest race.”

12.Greg Bond (The Bird Dance): “Last run he missed away and it cost him winning the race. He will be in the finish with a good start.”

RACE 7 – DIRECT TRADES SUPPLY PACE

1.Kyle Harper (Mon Lilles): “Ready to run a race and gets the draw she’s been waiting for. Fantastic front runner. Will hold the front and give her the best chance.”

2.Shannon Suvaljko (Marquisard): “Each-way.”

3.Aldo Cortopassi (Dreamy Nights): “Back to 2130. Had the choice between him and Marquisard. We will have a quick look for the lead.”

4.Gary Hall Snr (Mister Bushido): “I’d love to see him lead because I think he’d be very hard to beat. His form has been good for his last four or five runs. His last start he won very easily and I don’t think he’s gone off since then. It’s a hard race to figure out where he’s going to end up.”

RACE 8 – ETCH COATINGS PACE

1.Shannon Suvaljko (Twoandahalf Tigers): “Good place chance.”

2.Greg Bond (Taroona Bromac): “Last run was in the stand. Wasn’t 100 per cent happy. We got him scoped. I expect a competitive showing. He should find the top.”

3.Jack Justins (Pradas Ideal Dahling): “Hopefully lob close to them on the back of a nice one. Thinking of staying in the moving line so he’s got room.”

4.Aldo Cortopassi (A Boy Named Rosie): “Tricky draw. He’s a sit-sprint specialist.”

5.Gary Hall Snr (Robbie Easton): “Working really well. The best he’s worked since I’ve had him. Obviously he will be underdone. With Taroona Bromac leading I doubt we can give him any grief.”

RACE 9 – SIMMONDS STEEL PACE

1.Kyle Harper (Parisian Partygirl): “Airborne without a great deal of luck. Should get the run of the race behind the leader. Just tricky in small fields as to whether she finds the run.”

2.Colin Belton (Gotta Go Gabbana): “Got the gate speed. She will lead easily. I think Kyle Harper will hand up.”

3.Aiden De Campo (Delightfulreaction): “Racing well. Will need genuine tempo to win.”

5.Shannon Suvaljko (Millwood Brandy): “Wait for a weaker field.”

6.Michael Grantham (Pick My pocket): “Looks a race they’ll run it in Indian file. I’ll keep the options open.”

7.Gary Hall Snr (Just Rockon Bye): “If she had have drawn to lead I’m sure she would’ve gone really well. Gotta Go Gabbana is going to find the lead and I would imagine, unless she gets pressure, Just Rockon Bye is going to have to settle for a place.”

RACE 10 – MEMBERS SPRINT

1.Chris Voak (Vultan Tin): “Looking for improvement. Good draw over the mile. Phil wants to lead.”

2.Greg Bond (Our Jimmy Johnstone): “Trained on well from last week. If we got the front we wouldn’t hand up.”

3.Gary Hall Snr (Chicago Bull): “These small fields are harder than the big fields for him. Jimmy Johnstone was a huge run last week and obviously he’s going to be the one to beat again. I’m not sure what’s going to happen. There’s quite a few different scenarios. Bully is going to have to do all the work again. I was happy with his run last week. He just needs racing.”

4.Greg Bond (El Jacko): “Should get a nice trip. Small field suits him. He will find the line strongly.”

5.Michael Grantham (Golden State): “Try to run top four.”

6.Ross Olivieri (Iceenothink): “Draw doesn’t help him in this race.”
