The Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) Stewards advise that the incorrect placings were originally declared for 1st and 2nd in Race 2 today at Hamilton.

The original placings were:

1st – Manly Boy (Number 3)

2nd – Luverboy (Number 5)

3rd – A Rocknroll Jet (Number 4)

4th – Luvtoo (Number 2)

The margin recorded between Manly Boy and Luverboy was a nose.

Prior to the running of Race 4 the presiding Judging officials advised Stewards that upon further review they felt an error had occurred in declaring Manly Boy the winner ahead of Luverboy.

After taking evidence from the Judging officials involved, and the connections of Manly Boy and Luverboy, it was established that the Judging officials had mistaken the nose of Luverboy for the nose of Manly Boy and as a consequence ‘all clear’ was given on the incorrect placings.

In light of the evidence Stewards permitted the Judge to correct their error in accordance with Australian Harness Racing Rule 49(5) which states:

49. (5)  The judge may correct a mistake.

The amended placings are:

1st – Luverboy (Number 5)

2nd – Manly Boy (Number 3)

3rd – A Rocknroll Jet (Number 4)

4th – Luvtoo (Number 2)

The amendment to the placings does not affect the original payment of bets.

An internal review will be conducted concerning the circumstances leading to this error.
