Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) Stewards have issued a charge against licensed driver Nathan Weightman under Australian Harness Racing Rule (AHRR) 149(1) which states:
A driver shall take all reasonable and permissible measures during the course of a race to ensure that the horse driven by that driver is given full opportunity to win or obtain the best possible placing in the field.
It is alleged that Mr Weightman did not give the horse ‘Dynamite Dingo’ full opportunity to win or obtain the best possible placing in Race 5 at the Mildura race meeting on 6 September 2018.
Mr Weightman has also been issued with a further charge for his conduct in the parade ring subsequent to the running of Race 5 at Mildura on the same date.
The charges will be heard by the HRV Racing Appeals and Disciplinary (RAD) Board on a date to be fixed.
