Inquiry – Mr Alexander Klimenko
Harness Racing South Australia Stewards today concluded an inquiry into a letter distributed by licensed trainer Mr Alexander Klimenko dated the 27th September 2018.
After hearing from Mr Klimenko, the Stewards issued a charge under Rule 248 of the Rules of Harness Racing. The particulars being Mr Klimenko wrote and distributed a letter, signed and dated the 27th of September, which had improper and derogatory comments directed towards Harness Racing SA and its Board, and that such comments within the letter were considered improper within the meaning of Rule 248.
Mr Klimenko was found to be guilty of the offence and after consideration with respect to penalty; the Stewards imposed a fine of $1,500.00 with $750.00 being suspended for a period of two years pending no further breaches of this, or similar rules.
In reaching their determination Stewards took into consideration penalties imposed for similar breaches of Rule 248 within SA and other jurisdictions and the fact this was Mr Klimenkos first breach of this rule.
Mr Klimenko was advised his rights of appeal.
