Harness Racing Victoria (HRV), a statutory body, is responsible for the control, development and promotion of the Victorian harness racing industry. With strong links to rural and regional communities, we are committed to developing a vibrant and sustainable harness racing industry which promotes participation, integrity and racing excellence.  With over 400 race meetings per year at 28 tracks throughout Victoria, harness racing contributes $422m p.a. to the Victorian economy and employs approximately 4000 people.

The Opportunity

The Marketing Coordinator will work as an integral part of the HRV marketing team, supporting the planning and implementation of marketing campaigns with the objective of raising the profile of the trots, enhancing the customer experience and increasing raceday attendance. There is a particular emphasis on promotional campaigns, agency liaison and content generation.

About You

The role requires an experienced, organised and confident marketing individual, with strong communication and agency experience (client side or within). Previous experience in managing complex marketing campaigns and generating quality content, as well as monitoring budgets is essential. Experience within the sports or and entertainment field, especially racing, will be very highly regarded.

The main responsibilities of the Brand Marketing Coordinator are to:

  • Contribute to, and manage the implementation of marketing strategies for HRV, with an emphasis on advertising campaigns, brand exposure and content generation

  • Create/brief in marketing and advertising material

  • Coordinate and deliver HRV’s Trots Country Carnival promotional programs

  • Ensure the timely delivery of corporate and campaign material

  • Track and reconcile campaign and production budgets

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • At least three years' marketing experience, combined with a relevant tertiary qualification

  • Experience managing complex marketing campaigns and budgets

  • High level of initiative and competency

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

  • Ability to work with competing priorities and within strict deadlines

  • High level of organisation and strong attention to detail, especially in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment

  • Experience in building internal and external relationships with key stakeholders

  • Excellent proofreading, written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Knowledge of online environments

This is a full-time position based at HRV’s Flemington office, there will be regular travel required including travel throughout regional Victoria.  Given the nature of this role, the incumbent will be expected to work outside of normal working hours according to event requirements.
